Arthur Dale Phelps

June 4, 1964 - August 19, 2015

Arthur Dale Phelps, 51, of Virginia Beach and Tyner, NC, went to be with his Savior Wednesday, August 19, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Arthur was born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Kenneth A. and Pia A. “Dolly” Phelps. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at AMSEC and Colonna’s LLC as a Heavy Industrial Pipefitter Supervisor. Arthur was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Robin Phelps; three children Sarah Phelps, Joshua Phelps and Katie Phelps; brother, Mark E. Phelps; two sisters, Hollie M. Godfrey and Melissa S. Hickling; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. A private burial will be held Friday with military honors. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Suburban Christian Church, 5132 Bellamy Manor Drive, Virginia Beach, VA. Reverend C. Todd Haynes will officiate. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolence may be offered to the family at
