Azeezuddin Muhammad – formly known as James Earl Jessie, 70, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2017 in Chesapeake, VA.
Azeezuddin Muhammd was born Dothan, AL to Wilma Lee and John Henry Jessie on May 25, 1947. He went to school at Carver High Dothan, AL – Graduated Central High Newark, NJ. He worked at Post Office; Board of Education; NJ Transit; Car Salesman & Entrepreneur. He was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Marines and was awarded Distinguished Service Medal for distinguished meritorious service in ground combat during the Vietnam War. He was involved in Newark, NJ Muslim League of Voters, Virginia Beach Central Lions Club, Commanders Club Disabled American Veterans. He received several awards for involvement within the Muslim community, President of the Central Lions Club, Bronze Leader of Virginia for the Commanders Club.
Azeezuddin is preceded in death by his mother Wilma L. Jessie, his father John H. Jessie, his brother Sylvester Jessie, and his brother Jerry Jessie.
Azeezuddin is survived by his wife: Lenora Muhammad, his children: Ahsonna Muhammad, James Earl Jessie Jr. (aka Khalyl Jessie), Rashid Ali Jessie, Karriem Ali Jessie, Tarik Ali Jessie and Qadree Muhammad, his siblings: Mary Linen Johnson (Gregory), Jimmie Jessie (Elaine), Larry Jessie, Benjamin Jessie and Lillian Ferdinand (Randolph), his grandchildren: Alexandra Chanel, Jazzmin Sierra, Jewell Adai Iysrael Jessie, Markus Ali, Julian Alexander Khalyl Jessie, Zahirah Ramaya Muhammad, Nadiyah Samad Muhammd, Halimah Iyanla Muhammad and Aliyah Jasmine Jessie
