Barbara Ann Rich-Lewis, 75, died May 21, 2017. Barbara was born in Baltimore, MD to the late William Leroy and Thelma Shelley Morris. She was a former division director for the Navy public works center and their 1st women Electromotive mechanic, past president of the Oceanview Fleet Reserve ladies auxiliary and had been attending St. Stephen Martyr Roman Catholic Church. Barbara’s greatest passion was to care for others and give back to her community. She had mentored many people, and served in many capacities with the revitalization of Oceanview and helping St. Judes. Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by 6 siblings and a granddaughter, Whitney Drake.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 12 years, Alexander S. Lewis; children, Allen Rich (Tina) of Baltimore, MD, Alexandra “Allie” Drake-Goley (Donald) of Chesapeake, and John Lewis of Moyock; 6 grandchildren; very close friends, Jackie Delacruz and Ida Mitchell of Norfolk; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with a reception immediately following.
