Graveside Service

On the evening of Monday July 6, 2015, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bob Jim Pierce, 81, slipped into eternal rest.  Bob was born in Windsor, North Carolina and retired from the Newport News Shipyard where he was employed as a Burner. On August 9, 1986, Mr. Pierce married his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Claudine Pierce.
Bob loved the Lord and reading his Bible.  He also enjoyed children (driving them to Sunday School especially) gardening, traveling, cooking and watching the Redskins play.
Mr. Pierce leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 28 years, Virginia; one daughter, Becky Davis; two step daughters, Pam Foster and her husband Steve and Mona Babb and her husband Greg; one stepson, Rick Hilton; 21grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a legion of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Friday July 17, 2015 at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd. Hampton, Virginia 23666.  Bob will be forever loved and missed.

Daddy,
Since you left us so many memories have been running through my mind. I remember you putting sponge curlers in my hair when I was a little girl before bed and everything up to holding your hand while you slept a few days before you died. You were such a selfless person. You gave so much of yourself to others and I never heard you complain abut anything or anyone. I know you are not suffering now but I would give anything to have you back. I will love and miss you always.
