Brant Lee Sines passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2018.
He especially loved spending time with his family and his wife and son.  Brant also enjoyed going fishing, watching concerts, and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed going to baseball games and hanging out with his friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Kayla; son, Brodie; mother, Shawn Forehand and husband, Collin; siblings, April, Kristan, and Hunter; and parent-in-laws, Kevin and Tina Mills.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation.

Losing someone we love is heartbreaking and your tears don’t go unnoticed. May you take comfort in God’s promise to wipe away our tears and undo death by means of the resurrection. Acts 24:15

I couldn’t make it back home in time to say good bye and give my respect but to Brant, to Brant’s wife, Kayla, to Brant’s son, Brodie, and Brant’s family and close friends I am so sorry for your loss. I was not a close friend to Brant but as person who knew him enough to call him a friend, it still hurts. I met Brant as a young kid. My bestfriend, Megan, lived in Timberlake court, the court just right next to Brant’s familie’s home, in Turtlerock neighborhood, off Volvo. Wow we were so young ! I would tease him for teaching his brother, Hunter, curse words. Hunter was just a little thing. Then I went to the same middle school with him at Greenbriar. I think we all recall the time Brant’s sister shaved his eyebrows after a superbowl bet! Brant handled it like a champ and never skipped a beat making it funny for us all. I think most of my memories I share with him are during that time period. I recall a memory of riding bikes with friends and him at the chesapeake city park or even maybe meeting at Java Junction during the summer with friends. He and his sister gave me a ride home from Lance’s house after Kyle had passed away. Little moments, but still big memories I hold. Brant had teen living with me and he was a horrible cook or shall I say he didnt take it very seriously. But yet he still some how managed to cook better cookies than my group and I remember being mad about it. Haha! I think he cheated by getting the teacher to fix the mess they made. 🙂 He didnt take it seriously and yet he still excelled. He made us laugh and smile. He was just Brant! Silly and fun but yet gentle and kind. He had a heart of gold. He was very sweet when he wanted to be and wasn’t cracking a joke or messing with you. He also went to high school at Smith with me for a little as well. Brant was a kidder. He had a funny personality and was a nice person. I wish I could share something about Brant that maybe a loved one has never heard to make you smile like he has made us all smile but I think the one thing I knew about him most presently was that he loved his wife, family and son. And honestly that’s all that matters. He has left behind great memories for us all to love and cherish. And I will forever remember him as being a carefree silly prankster! Thank you Brant for being a friend of mine and thank you for the memories.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! I didn’t know Brant as an adult, only saw him few times when he was younger. When I think of him I remember a sweet little kid goofy off with Brewer at the mall. My heart aches for your family! April and Kristan, please let me know if there’s anything you all need! Prayers and may he Rest in Paradise!

My childhood friend. My best friend growing up. I’ll never forget all the sleep overs and skate board sessions.. playing baseball in the backyard or basketball in the driveway. Watching little Hunter grow and talk, he called me Adden. So many memories. I’m at a loss of words. I know Brant and I lost touch with each other and went our separate ways into adulthood, but he was and always will be a big part of my childhood memories in Turtle Rock. I am so so sorry for this loss. My sincerest condolences to the whole family. My heart hurts for each of you.
