Charles Henry Rummage

January 26, 1946 - December 1, 2017

God chose December 1, 2017 as the day of triumph for Charles Henry Rummage at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (Virginia).  Charles was born January 26, 1946 in Gary Indiana to the late(s) James Howard and Marolee Mittie Rummage.  His formative years were spent in Gary Indiana.

A 1965 graduate of Roosevelt High School, Charles entered the U.S. Army November 1966.  He was assigned to the 1st Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Texas and served as a cannoneer in Battery B, 3rd Battalion of the Division’s 19th Artillery.  Charles also served in Korea.  He worked for U.S. Steel Mill in Gary Indiana until a work injury caused him to retire on disability.  He moved to Virginia Beach to be closer to his family.  He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his brother James Morris Rummage and sister Jeannette Ann Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Yolanda and Samantha Rummage of Phoeniz, Arizona; two sisters, Barbara R. Butler and Carrol L. Wilburn both of Virginia Beach, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
