Chesapeake – Elena E Lopez Centellas, 85 passed away at her home in Chesapeake VA, on July 28, 2017.
By her side was her son Jorge Lopez Centellas, his wife Ana Lopez Centellas and his daughter Melinda Snader.  She was born in Havana Cuba on Jan. 19, 1932.
 
A strong, independent and beautiful woman, who love the lord.  She lived many years in Miami FL where she was married to her husband Emilio Lopez Centellas for 30 years.  She raised her two sons Jorge Lopez-Centellas and Emilio Lopez Centellas (the reason for her life) by herself during her husband’s incarceration for political reasons in CUBA. She is a graduate of Florida International University and earned a Master Degree. She had a passion working as a CPA for over 40 years.
 
She was known for her great traditional Christmas Eve dinners, where the entire family gathered to celebrate and dance. Elena was known for being in the spotlight and she was famous for her long prayers and speeches.  One of her many highlights was dressing up as Santa Claus for all the grandkids.  A servant to all, you could always count on Elena to step up and help her friends and family members in any way possible.  She enjoyed her home in Miami FL, until she had move to Chesapeake VA to spend her remaining years living with her son Jorge Lopez Centellas and his family.  She adored spending time with her Granddaughter Melinda and her 5 Grandkids.
 
She is survived by her sons Emilio and his son Mathew and her son Jorge his wife Ana their son Jorge A. Lopez Centellas and daughter Melinda E. Snader her husband Jeff Snader and there 5 Grandkids, Gabriel Snader, Layla Snader, Angelina Snader, Joshua Snader and Sofia Snader.
