Helen Parker Camden, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Scottsville, Virginia on August 24, 1922 to Thomas O. Parker and Jenena A. Farrish Parker. She went on to work for forty-two dedicated years, retiring as a manager from the  Bell Atlantic Telephone Company. In her freetime, she enjoyed watching all sports, especially baseball, cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves through many innings over the years. Helen embodied a spirit of warmth and kindness to all.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald F. Camden, and two siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Anne Church and her husband Rod of Virginia Beach; daughter Donna Custis and her husband Glenn of Pungoteague, VA; son Thomas Camden and son Michael Camden of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Tony and Amber Custis; further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass for Helen will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at The Church of the Holy Family (1279 N. Great Neck Rd. Virginia Beach, VA) at 11:00 AM.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to The Salvation Army. To make a contribution to either fund, please click the underlined charity name in the previous sentence.
