It is with great sadness that the family of Hortensia Parente announce her passing on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the age of 85.
Hortensia will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Manuel and her children, Manny and his wife, Mary Ann, Jose, Jim and Teresa and her husband, Greg. Hortensia will be forever remembered by her seven grandchildren, Marissa, Michelle, Jennifer, Kim, Greg, Justin and Christina and her great-grandchildren, Gianni, Guilio and Elijah.
Hortensia will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News. Service will follow at noon with interment in Peninsula Memorial Park.

I’m so sorry to hear of her passing on. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all.
I am very sorry to read of the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed indeed. It is comforting to know that she is sleeping peacefully in death and is awaiting the time when John 5:29,29 will be fulfilled. This time will be made possible by means of God’s Kingdom in which we pray for in the Lord’s Prayer.
