James Jerome Nagle, 87, passed into eternal life in his home and in the arms of his daughters on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He has rejoined the love of his life of 62 years, Frances Baker Nagle. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather of 5, and great-grandfather of 7. They were all the light of his life.
Jim was born on May 9, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late George W. Nagle and Florence Skorcz Nagle Brady. Jim served in the Navy for 22 years during the Korean and Vietnam War and retired in 1969. He worked for the Department of Military Affairs at The State Military Reservations in Virginia Beach and retired after 22 years in 1993. He was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed his retirement.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Frances Baker Nagle in 2015; sister Elaine N. Solski; brothers George P. Nagle and Kenneth Brady.
Left to cherish his memory are daughter Debra N. Bosch and her husband William; their three children Jennifer B. McGregor and her husband Jason, their children Josh, Sam and Natalie; Alicia B. Kruciak and her husband Matt, their daughter Ava; Bryan Bosch and his daughter Riley; daughter Teresa N. Link and her husband John; their daughters Jamie Link and Katie L. Jauert and her husband Jason, their children Lily and Adam; all from Virginia Beach; brothers Williard M. Nagle of Salem, Wisconsin and Edmund ”Sonny” Brady of Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Maestas Chapel located at 1801 Baltic Avenue VA Beach, VA from 2:00-4:00pm. Funeral services will be held the following day, Monday, June 11 at 11:00am followed by interment at 12:00pm at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
