Jay Bradley "Brad" Everett

December 20, 1966 - October 26, 2017

Jay Bradley Everett of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 26th. Born in Norfolk, Va. on December 20, 1966, he was a graduate of First Colonial High School and a graduate of Old Dominion University with a B.S. degree in Environmental Health. His wonderful sense of humor will be sorely missed. He was extremely kind and loving, always pulling for the underdog. He had many friends and his mission in life was helping others, especially with addiction battles.

He is survived by his parents, O.L. and Carol Everett; sister Jennifer E. Sykes and brother-in law Jim Sykes; three nephews, Jimmy, Will and John Sykes; two uncles, Hal Prentiss (Marianne) and Hardy Everett (Barbara); and cousins, Greg Prentiss and Shawn Everett. A memorial service will be on Saturday, Nov. 4th, at 2pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Ave., 23451. In lieu of flowers, one of Brad’s favorite charities is SEVA, a global nonprofit eye care organization that transforms communities. Memorial donations in Brad’s memory may be made HERE. What our families say...

In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
