Jean Kendall passed away March 21,2016. A loving husband of Karen Rostov Kendall and loving father of Coral Lynn Kendall, died on March 21st He is survived by his mother, Stephani Burt Kendall and his sister, Marcelle Kendall Rowe (David), and nieces Elizabeth Stead (John) and Kendall “Maddy” Rowe; and great-nephew John “Buck” Stead. Jean was born on April 27, 1969 in La Mirada, CA. He started college in California and then moved to Lynchburg, VA with his family. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Army National Guard and served in an infantry unit. He is a member of Theta Tau Engineering. He worked at NAVFAC/MIDLANT at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. A celebration of his life will be held at Altmeyer’s Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road on Wednesday, March 23rd at 1 pm. I pray for Jean’s everlasting life with the Lord and offer my sincere condolences to his family. Jean and I were colleagues for many years at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. I admired his courage in times of distress.
