Joshua Gage Beagle, 18, of Chesapeake, Virginia went to be with his Savior February 11, 2018 surrounded by his family at home. He was born February 12, 1999 in Chesapeake, Virginia, the son of Randy and Dana Beavers and David Cantley, Jr.
Josh graduated from Grassfield High School in 2017, where he was a member of the football team. He was currently enrolled at Tidewater Community College majoring in physical therapy.
Josh will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, and friend. Josh was passionate about life, family and friends. He was a member of Faith Temple Church and a member of U A Squad car club. Josh worked at Majestik Auto Spa for the past two years as a team leader. Josh was passionate about fishing, music, anything and everything related to cars and an avid Washington Redskins football fan.
Josh was passionate about life and in keeping with Josh’s loving and generous spirit; it was his decision to donate life so that others may live. Honoring his generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation. Josh gave in death as he gave in life; Josh’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
Josh is predeceased by his father David Cantley, Jr; his paternal step-grandfather James Martin; maternal great grandfather Paul Beagle; paternal step-grandmother Norma Sutherland.
Josh is survived by his parents Randy and Dana Beavers of Chesapeake, Virginia; his brothers Zach Beavers of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Jared Beavers of Simi Valley, California. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, WG and Elizabeth Beagle, also of Chesapeake, Virginia; his maternal great grandmother Hazel Beagle, also of Chesapeake, Virginia and his paternal grandparents, Ella Martin of Chesapeake, Virginia; David and Dora Cantley of Winston Salem, North Carolina. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, Virginia. Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and the burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, 524 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, Virginia.
A celebration of life will follow at the family home.
