 VIRGINIA BEACHJoyce “Nanny” Partain was called to heaven on July 13, 2016. Joyce was born in Thomaston, Georgia and was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Clarence J. Partain “Poppy”.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dan Partain (Gail), Joyce Elliott, Keith Partain (Vanessa), Julie Burns, (Melvin), John Partain (Jean) and Jim Partain. Nanny cherished her grandchildren, Jamie Shelton (Rob), Christopher Partain, Justin Partain, Jessica McNally (David), Crystal Partain, Jordan Elliott, Daniel Partain, Joshua Partain and Jennifer Jordan (Sean); and six great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by all the many other children who called her “Mom”, “Nanny” and “Grandma”.

We would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care for our precious mother.

The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 6pm to 7pm with a funeral service to begin at 7pm. Burial will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 9am at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
