L.C. Stitts, 85, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2016. He was born on December 21, 1930 to the late Dan and Alice Stitts in Middleton, TN.
L.C. served our country for 20 yrs. as a member of the US Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Rosetta Stitts; second wife, Gertrude Stitts; and 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Phyllis Wiggins (Hollice Wiggins), Pamela Harris (the late Frank Harris), and Patrice Smith (Bernard Smith); step-children, Pier Judge, Paige Stitts, and Patrina Stitts; and 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Va. Beach. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 12:00 pm, at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.

To my grandfather L.C. Stitts although you lived far away through out my life, I was always tickled whenever we talked on the phone. The christmas gift each year just to you were thinking of us meant more than just a gift to me. You will be missed by many…Love you Grandad
Words can not express the level of sorrow that I feel at this time. I just pray that the lord will ease the sorrow that must be felt by the family at this time. I can rejoice in the fact that L.C. is not longer suffering at this time. He truly fought a good fight and now it is time for him to rest in peace.
