Leonard Edward "Len" Skebeck

June 8, 1942 - September 6, 2017

Leonard E. Skebeck, 75, of Virginia Beach, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 6, 2017 after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley Skebeck Sr, Helen Skebeck, Stanely Skebeck Jr, and Paul Skebeck.
Len is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Diana Skebeck; his daughters Corrina Carter and Tammy Diamond; son, Lenny Skebeck; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister in law Barbara Pfahler and nieces and nephews. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous extended family and special friends.
Len was a graduate of Cresson High School. He is an Army veteran and retired as an inspector of the metro light rail system. He was also a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and contributed to KOFC great works. He enjoyed volunteering at Weselyan Apartments for the senior tenants.  He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan and avid Bingo player.  He was a loving and caring husband, father and PapPap.
Sunday Sept 10th the family will receive visitors at Altmeyer funeral home 5792 Greenwich Rd Virginia Beach, VA from 3-5 pm.
Funeral Mass will take place at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach VA 23462 at 10 am Sept 11th followed by burial at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd Suffolk VA at 12 pm. The family would like to extend a welcome back at the church after the burial.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St Gregory the Great School by clicking HERE.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caretakers at Medi Home Health & Hospice for their compassion and comfort during this difficult time. Gratitude is also extended to Virginia Oncology Associates, especially Dr. Paul Conkling, MD.
