Lillie Ann Patrick

February 1, 1927 - April 30, 2018

Lillie “Ann” Patrick, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2018, with her family by her side. Lillie Ann was born in Jewell Ridge, VA, to the late James Herbert Griffith and Annie Elizabeth Coleman Griffith. One of nine children, she has one surviving sister, Betty Young of Stinson Ridge, VA. Lillie Ann married the late David Henry Patrick in 1950 and resided in Cedar Bluff, VA, where they had and raised five children. For the last twenty years, she has resided in Yorktown, VA.

In addition to her sister, Lillie Ann leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Carolyn Patrick and partner John Clemens of Gloucester, VA; David “Sonny” Patrick and wife Winona of Richlands, VA; Margaret Elswick and husband David of Yorktown, VA; Kathy Patrick and partner Donnie Garrett of Manquin, VA; and Christine Dye and husband Jimmy of Martinsville, VA. She will also live on in the hearts of her 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lillie Ann was a loving daughter, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by all who met her, never having met a stranger. Aside from spending time with her family, Lillie Ann enjoyed playing rummy, doing word search puzzles, watching Westerns, and telling many stories of older times. Always wearing a smile, she loved her life without ever complaining.  Heaven now has the most humble person the world could ever make, one that we were so blessed to call “Mom” and “Mawmaw.”

A visitation and service will be held at Singleton Funeral Home in Cedar Bluffs, VA.
