I worked with Lora Mae many years ago at Navy Relief. She was a true Southern lady and very kind. My prayers and sympathy are with the family.

Dear family you have my sincere condolences. What precious memories you must hold of your dear mother, grand, and great grandmother, who lived such a long life! May those memories, along with your reliance and trust in the one true God (Psalm 83:18) comfort you during this difficult time and may you find comfort in his promise of a resurrection in Acts 24:15.

Sally and Jane I was so sorry to read about your moms passing. I have such fond memories of her and the times at the Jeffers house for dinners and holidays. She was a wonderful lady and a great friend to Janet. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so fortunate to have met Lara Mae within a few weeks before she passed on. Jane, her daughter and a dear friend, gave me the opportunity to go to Portsmouth to meet Jane’s sister, Sally, other family members and friends. I saw a very single minded ninety-five year old woman make her wishes known…and her daughters made it happen. So she left this world on her own terms…a lesson for us all.

I feel as though I lost a second mother. Mrs Webster was such a big part of my childhood and the sweetest lady I’ve ever known. Much love and many hugs to Jane and Sally. You were her pride and joys! My grief is deep but I know she will be welcomed into heaven with open arms for the many good deeds she did in earth and the lives that she touched with her grace and compassion.

Deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences, Jane and Sally. Way too many memories to relate here but will share our lovely visit with your mom a few months back; surprised she was to see Ron and I at her door. The house smelled of baking lemon bars. Inviting us in with hugs and “so glad to see you” while apologizing for her day shift, we shared stories of the past, the neighborhood, and your father’s letter home telling about Ron’s father. Your mom looked lovely, as always.
Mourning her loss to you but celebrating her life and legacy,
Ginny
