Marlon Neville James Sr., 55, of Newport News passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016.

Marlon was born in Tampa, Florida the son of Andrew and Jacquelyn James. His father, Andrew predeceased him. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army retiring after 20 years of honorable and faithful service. He will be remembered for his loving heart and dedication to his family. Marlon is loved by many and will be missed by all. Marlon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years Alison of Newport News, VA children, LeTanya R. James of Fayetteville, NC; Marlon N. James Jr. of Newport News, VA; Dominique J. James (Brandy) of Newport News, VA; Monique N. James of Largo, MD; mother Jacquelyn E. James of Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren, brother Daryl W. James, Andrew L. James Jr. (deceased), and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will take place 6-8pm Friday, June 24, 2016 in Altmeyer Funeral Homes Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave Newport News. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Colossian Baptist Church, 856 Old Ft. Eustis Blvd, Newport News, at 11 am. Burial will take place in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk VA Monday, June 27, 2016 at 12:15 pm. Condolences may be offered to the family at
