MARTHA WARNER GILBERT
CHESAPEAKE– Martha Warner Gilbert, 71, passed away in her home on Friday, August 17, 2018. Martha was born in Washington, NC to Ethel Mae Warner and the late Johnnie M. Warner, Sr. She was a Chesapeake school bus aide for handicapped children.
Martha is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Gilbert; son, Jimmy Gilbert, Jr. and Lynn Honeycutt-whom she loved as a daughter; mother, Ethel Mae Warner; brother, Johnnie M. Warner, Jr.; sister, Bertha Woolard and husband Phil; and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929. S. Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 10am to 11am with A Celebration of Life service to begin at 11am. Burial will follow at 3pm in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, NC.

Jimmy and Ethel, I am so thankful to have known Martha. She has always been
a sweet person and it is wonderful to have the assurance that she is at peace and
without pain. Rejoice in her victory and thank God for her life. You are in my prayers.
My Special Cousin, I will never forget the fun Times I had At Big Johnie’s House and Aunt Ethel’s, I practically grew up with YOU! Heaven is A Lot Brighter Now! With Finger Nails Lit with Lightning Bugs! And God’s Spiritual Glow! I give My condolesences to You Husband, Jimmy, Your Son, Jim and Your Precious Mother Aunt Ethel!!!. Martha (fuzzy) was such a sweet cousin. Always had a smile on her face. We are all going to miss her! My heart and prayers goes out to the family.
