VIRGINIA BEACH- Morland L. “Moe” Trombley, 75, lost his life May 21, 2018 while traveling in Kanab, Utah with his beloved wife. Moe was born in Rome, New York on December 29, 1942 to the late Mae Cowan and Lorn J. Trombley Sr. Moe was a 1961 graduate of the Rome Free Academy. He served in the United States Navy between 1962 to 1966. After his service, Moe spent 28 years in the maritime industry. During that time, he served in several different management positions and was instrumental in bringing more business to the port of Hampton Roads. After retiring, he then went to work for Andy’s Taxi as a driver and manager. In his free time, Moe enjoyed golfing with his friends and family and driving Miss Margie. Moe along with his son Jeff was an avid Land Cruiser enthusiast and enjoyed attending numerous trail rides and club events.
Moe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margie C. Trombley; son, Jeffrey W. Trombley; two brothers, Frank L. Trombley and his wife Patricia of Goose Creek, SC., and Lorn J. Trombley Jr. of Marcellus, NY.; two sisters, Karen C. Longacre and husband Ronald of Goshen, IN., and Linda M. Lighthall of Rome, NY.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Rd. Norfolk, VA. 23502 with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 12:00pm with Pastor Dick Baker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lions Charity Foundation, C/O Jerry Phelps, 1229 Course View Circle, Virginia Beach, VA. 23455.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. Moe was a great guy. He will be missed very much. Condolences to Margie and family. RIP Moe! 🙁

I’m so sorry I can’t be down there with all of the familly We have many great memories from his years as a youngster through adulthood. He was one good person and a lot of fun to be with and I’m certain Bob would agree.
