Nelson was like one of our own. He was Sean’s friend, but he is family. You are all so loved.
I’m sadden to learn of my shipmates loss at such a young age. nelson was one of my go to guys while we served together aboard the USS AMERICA CV-66 in the early to mid 90’s. I was his Leading Petty Officer when we were in G-3 division. He and I made three or four Med cruises together and I remember him as a hard working young seaman who always had a smile on his face and who never complained; just did what had to be done and got on with it. I bid you fair winds and following seas shipmate.
Nelson, thank you for the friendship we shared and the memories we created. Rest easy my friend. I love you. Condolences to your family, he will be missed but never forgotten.
I was on watch at NAS Brunswick ME when you drove up to the gate in your 4 wheel drive telling me you were a new check in. I Served with you for 8 years. We had our differences but in truth, when the chips were down I knew you were right there. All those times playing xbox. All those times seeing what we could order for computer parts on the ship. All those. Times we rolled our eyes at the BS that was around us. never again. I knew that the one thing you cherished most was your family. I hope you knew how much people around you cherished you. You will be missed more then you know. Now if you excused me..I need to go Kick the shit out of Cancer. rest easy Nelson. See you on the other side.
