Filomena, I would like to recall the time Lee and I met at work. It must have been around the summer of 2000 when I was delivering Express Mail for the Post Office Lee worked out of. He was a bit annoyed at how late I had gotten there. Almost a year went by, when Lee was introduced to me as a new member of our Special Delivery crew. It was during this time he realized how one can be caused to be late due to uncontrollable circumstances. From then on, we became good friends and relied upon each other for support in covering all of Virginia Beach. I chose to mention this story because it reminds me of how our Lord draws all of us together in some form even from circumstances that may have appeared to be a conflict of personalities. If there’s anything I can do, just let me know.

Filomena, my deepest condolences go out to you and the Baer family. Lee was such a great man. Always willing to help others and show compassion to everyone. He had such a kind spirit and I am so blessed to have known him. I am personally so thankful to both of you for the love you’ve shown to me and my family. May God continue to give you strength during this time and may He continue to keep you in perfect peace. Lee will truly be missed.

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. While I did not know Mr. Baer personally, I do know the pain of losing a loved one. What has helped my family to cope is the Bible’s message of hope for the future. In it, our Heavenly Father promises to reunite us with our dear loved ones under perfect living conditions ( John 5:28,29 and Isaiah 65:20-25). In the days to come, may these promises help your family to endure.
