Williamsburg – Ruth Russell, 72, passed away September 21, 2015. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles Byrd. Ruth is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry K. Russell; daughters, Rhonda Russell, Rachel Sinks (Michael), Rebecca White (Colby); siblings, Betty Powers, John Byrd, Ella Jones, Rosa Edge, Neil “Bud” Byrd, Yates Byrd, Cecil Byrd; grandchildren, Jessica Flatter, Alan Sinks, Colby and Cara White; great grandchildren, Addison and Easton Flatter and Aidan Sinks. Ruth retired from State Farm Insurance and was a former youth director at Grace Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm Friday September 25, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church, 1013 Penniman Rd. Williamsburg, VA 23185, where a service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will take place Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2:00pm, at Tollersville Baptist Church Cemetery, N.C. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Youth Missions and or The Lupus Foundation of America, 1319 F. Street NW Suite 305 Washington, DC 20004.
