I first met Gale in 1981 when I started working at Oceanfront Library. I looked up to Gale and she was a true Librarian in every way. She taught me a lot and was a dear friend and as years went on she became family. She was always thoughtful of and very giving to her friends and family. We had a lot of great times and I will miss her dearly- my love, prayers and condolences to Lindsey and the family.

Gale was a wonderful colleague and friend. I would see her over the years at craft and jewelry shows. We were both doing some retail therapy, I will think of her every time I attend in the future. I will miss her.

I worked with Gale at the Oceanfront Library, where she was a respected member of the library family and community. I will remember Gale for that little twinkle in her eye, her sense of humor, and her fab collection of Birkenstocks. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

We met Gale through her cousin Andrea, who I have known since I was 5. Gale came camping and to dinners with all of us. It truly was a pleasure to spend the time we had with her. I will miss "Auntie Gale " a name we called her. Her laugh and smile will be missed. Gone too soon and never to be forgotten.

I just heard the news tonight about Gale. I am in shock. I haven't seen Gale lately, but have run into her from time to time since we worked together at OF library many years ago. My husband Karl and Gale were classmates at W.T. Cooke Elementary School. Gale loved my girls, Kara and Kate, and used to shower them with gifts when they were very young. They are all grown up now with kids of their own. Actually, Gale came over in the wee hours of the morning to take care of Kara when I went to the hospital to have Kate. She was very special. I will miss her. So many fond memories. Prayers for Lindsey and others in her family. Rest in Peace, Gale.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Gale. We lived just down the street from her when she was a small child. Many was the time I saw and spoke to her at the oceanfront library. She was a very sweet woman and will be missed.

I worked with Gale for the past 13 years at Oceanfront Area Library. Gale was a very caring person who sincerely enjoyed coming into work and being with her work family. She accepted people for who they are and not for any other reason. She welcomed people with open arms and she will be missed a lot! I am so sorry for the family she is leaving behind especially for Yvonne. May God comfort you in knowing that she lives on inside of you. Peace be with you. Sherry

To Ms. Yvonne and all those who knew and loved Ms. Gale, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
