William Marshall "Bill" Harrell

October 31, 1937 - August 24, 2017

Chesapeake – William Marshall Harrell, 79, died August 24, 2017.  Bill was born in Huntington, West Virginia to the late William David and Mollie Petty Harrell.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a retired Norfolk Police Lieutenant, and the owner of Blue Line Investigations, LLC.  Mr. Harrell was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Private Investigators Association of Virginia, and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.  Bill loved his wife, all of his family, and he was our best friend.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, boating, fishing, and going to his grandchildren’s games.  Thank you for the wonderful memories at White Lake, Big Meadows, and Ocracoke.  Our shared love for the Cincinnati Reds, the Washington Redskins, and antique auctions will remain with us always.  Thank-you for sharing your unfailing love, your unlimited time, and your often sought advice.  You are, and will remain, unforgettable.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Ann Harrell, children, William M. “Billy” Harrell, Jr (Paula) of Kill Devil Hills,  Virginia “Ginny” Anderson (Kevin) of Chesapeake, Andrew David Harrell (Amy) of Kill Devil Hills, and Christopher Matthew Harrell (Ami) of Chesapeake, lifelong friend and brother, David Hauer of Portsmouth, Virginia, grandchildren, Amanda Stair (Benjamin), Ashleigh Harrell, Brian Anderson, David Anderson,  Andy Harrell Jr., Ava Harrell, Chris Harrell II, Katie Harrell, Matthew Harrell, and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Addison and Aidan Stair.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27th from 6 pm until 7:30 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Virginia.  A funeral service will be held on Monday the 28th at11:30 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home. A burial service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  In honor of his loving wife, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association. c/o www.tmcfunding.com.  Express condolences to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
