Elizabeth Nelson, 90, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, peacefully at home, in Norfolk, Virginia. Elizabeth was born on April 15, 1930 to Bruce Moore and Annie May Brown, in Pitt County, North Carolina.

Elizabeth lived in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for several years, while working as a Nurse’s Assistant. In 1966, Elizabeth moved to Portsmouth, Virginia where she worked as a Bible Worker, giving Bible studies to individuals who were interested in developing a deeper relationship with God. After a few years, she earned her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Elizabeth had a deep love of music, she enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading, studying the Bible and was a devoted member of her church.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, JaNice Blackwell, James Thomas (Cyd), Tommy Thomas, Timothy Nelson (Michelle) and her grandchildren Dwayne, Linda, Deborah, Michael, James III and Mason.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM. For those who cannot attend, Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside Chapel has coordinated a live stream service for the day of. To view the live stream please click HERE at the date and time listed.
