CHESAPEAKE – Ronald Thomas Groves, 68, went to be with the Lord on  March 24, 2021.  Ron was born in Independence, MO to the late, Junious L. and E. Maxine Gill Groves.  He was a veteran having retired from the US Navy with over 20  years of service.  Ron enjoyed spending time with and caring for his family.   He was a big Kansas City Chief fan and avid gardener.  He was predeceased by brothers, Danny, Eddie, and David Groves.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 17 years, Deborah M. Groves; sons, Niles Groves of Virginia Beach, and Jamie Groves and his wife, Yulia of Virginia Beach; siblings, Mike Groves of TX, Gary and Terry Groves of MO, Larry Groves of KS, and Tammy Young of MO; grandchildren, Dylan, Macie, and Kallie Groves of Virginia Beach; his mother in law Patricia Bailey, Chesapeake; and a host of other family and friends.  Ron loved the Lord and enjoyed studying the bible.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Wounded Warriors.  Express condolences to the family at
