Andrew Martin "Andy" Puckette

June 28, 1938 - June 8, 2021

Andrew (“Andy”) Martin Puckette passed away at Consulate Health Care on June 8, 2021. Andy was a kind and loving part of our family. His mischievous sense of humor was enjoyed by all.  Andy was born in Gladys, Virginia, the first child of Henry Martin Puckette and Katie Dawson Puckette. He enjoyed his summers helping his Grandfather’s family farm there. He had many cousins who added to the fun there.

Andy graduated from Newport News High School in 1957 and later graduated from the Newport News Apprentice School in 1961. He served in the U. S. Army for 3 years. He enjoyed many years of operating his own company, Puckette’s Welding Service.

He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Douglas Puckette (Ann). He is survived by his wife Rhonda Puckette, his brother Larry Puckette (Dianne) and a host of nieces and nephews, and Nancy Crane.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021,  10:30 a.m. at the Albert G. Horton Memorial  Veteran Cemetery in Suffolk with Military Honors. He was proud to have served his country and we are proud that he was a part of our family. Rest in peace, Andy. Thanks for the memories.
