It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Andrew Michael William Stone announces his passing on March 10, 2021 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Andrew was born in Manhasset, New York to Cheryl L Potts (Travelstead) and Michael L Stone. Andrew was a gradate of F.W. Cox High School. He attended Old Dominion University and graduated from the Honda Automotive Program at Tidewater Community College. While he was born in New York, he also lived in Malibu, California and Barcelona, Spain before settling in Virginia Beach. He made lifelong friendships everywhere he lived.
Andrew was proud to be a senior Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic for the United States Post Office in Norfolk, Virginia. His expertise, hard work, and cheerful attitude will be missed by his co-workers. Andrew had an infectious smile and an extraordinary sense of humor. He had the unique ability to keep people rolling in laughter as he could find humor in the most mundane circumstances and experiences. He had a love for all creatures big and small and often shared video of his encounters. He thoroughly enjoyed competing with his friends playing Air Soft, building extensive Lego model’s, working on cars and crafting phenomenal meals. Last Spring, he was excited to become engaged to his long time girlfriend, Marie Fitchett. He loved his family deeply and was deeply loved in return. His loss will be greatly felt by all who where fortunate enough to know him.
Andrew was predeceased by his father, Michael and Uncle Michael. Andrew will be forever loved and remembered by his mother, Cheryl; sister, Taylor; brothers, Fletcher and Tiernan; and stepsister, Whitney. He will also be greatly missed by his grandparents, Sally and Don Meyer and Robert Potts; his uncle, Bob, step-mom, Laurie; (half) sister Cassidy and Aunt Adrienne and Uncle Danny; and a host of family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 15th at Spring Branch Community Church, 1500 N Great Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454.
