Angeles Cortuna "Angie" Felipe

October 2, 1933 - July 27, 2021

Angeles Cortuna Felipe, 87, passed away on July 27, 2021. She was a native of Iloilo, Philippines and a resident of Newport News. Angie enjoyed sewing, cooking and loved spending time with her family, friends and church prayer group. She was active in her church parish, previously volunteering as the Baptismal Preparation teacher.

Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Felipe; and son, Francis Felipe. She is survived by her daughter, Estela; sons, Daniel (Elizabeth), Edgar, Alfred and Christian (Stacey); granddaughters, Susana and Kristina (Bryan); grandson, Kekoa; great granddaughter, Aria and great grandson, Pierson; her twin sister, Julia Cortuna of Iloilo, Philippines; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 12893 Jefferson Ave., in Newport News. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 116 Denbigh Blvd., in Newport News. Burial following mass will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd., in Hampton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bereavement Ministry at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
