Arturo Bujawe Abenir, 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2019. He is the son of the late Mr. Zosimo Abenir and the late Mrs. Petra Bujawe Abenir. His siblings include his brothers, the late Ranulfo Abenir and the late Zosimo Abenir Jr. and a sister, Edith Desucatan. He was a loving husband to his wife, the late Mrs. Rosario Keh Abenir, and a dedicated father. He is survived by his six children, Marites Abenir Ruloff and her husband, Robert Ruloff and family, Maribel Abenir, Marilou Abenir, Arthur Abenir, Stephen Abenir and his wife, Jill Presley and family, and Janice Thrall and her husband, Stephen Thrall, and nephew Luis Abenir. Arturo was a retired Chief in the US Navy after having proudly served his country for 20 years as an electrician on the USS Forrestal. He later served as supervisor for the United States Postal Service until retiring in 1994. He was an avid chess champion and enjoyed a good game of cards with his buddies. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He loved his wife, Rosario dearly and happily provided for his family. His stern discipline was equally matched with his magnanimous love for family and friends. He loved and cherished his grandchildren, Hannah, Ella, Avree and Liam. He will forever remain in our hearts and memories and will always be loved dearly by his family. We give thanks and praise to the Lord for blessing us with such a wonderful father and friend.
