Barbara Ann Reinhardt

Died: April 30, 2017

CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA– Barbara Ann Reinhardt, 79, died in her home on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Barbara was born in La Porte City, Iowa, to the late Ralph and Letha Foss and was the widow of her husband of 55 years, Lee Russell Reinhardt.

She was a member of Littleton United Methodist Church in Littleton, N.C., and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Barbara is survived by three children, Laura MacDonald, Russell Reinhardt and wife Beverly, and Gwen Ertmann and husband John; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large family of friends.

A memorial service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA, on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 4 p.m. with Pastors Paul Palumbo and Tracy Bradshaw officiating. A celebration of Barbara’s life will immediately follow at Lighthouse Pointe at 933 Cedar Rd. in Chesapeake. Please join the family to enjoy a few of “Nonny’s” favorite things—fellowship, laughter, music and tasty food.

In honor of her loving and giving spirit, the family asks that you participate in random acts of kindness wherever possible—share a hug, offer a smile, spread sunshine, pay a compliment, write someone an encouraging note, leave a huge tip, dance like nobody’s watching, forgive a wrong, pay for the person behind you in line, praise the clerk who is having a bad day, and love without filters.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rajnish Dhawan and his staff for their tender loving care of Mama. You are truly amazing human beings and did so much to make this journey bearable.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Living Museum. Condolences may be shared with the family at
