Elizabeth Etheridge "Bettily" Chapman

October 28, 1948 - August 3, 2018

VIRGINIA BEACH – Elizabeth Etheridge “Bettily” Chapman, 69, died suddenly in a car accident August 3, 2018.  She was a life-long resident of the Back Bay area, born to Elizabeth Falconer Etheridge and Julian Baylor Etheridge.  She attended Creeds Elementary School, Kellam High School and Elon College.  She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and employed by Randolph Bundy in Portsmouth.

She is survived by son, Louis Buckner Chapman of Virginia Beach, daughter, Susan Dubrueler and her husband, Bob of Maurertown, VA, grandson, Milo Dubrueler and granddaughter, Orie Dubrueler; brothers, Julian Etheridge, Jr. of Carriere, MS, Shelby Etheridge of Virginia Beach, and sister, Mary Ellen Brinkley of Virginia Beach.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, James Etheridge, and sisters, Joyce Phillips and Joanne Stutzman.

A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 691 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach at 2:00 pm, Friday August 10.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bettily Chapman Memorial Fund at  Express condolences to the family at
