Betty Shaffer Ramos

December 12, 1927 - August 7, 2019

CHESAPEAKE – Betty Shaffer Ramos, 91, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, August 7, 2019.  Betty was born in Smithfield, PA to the late John and Leona Bowlen Monteith.  She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.  Betty was predeceased by her husband, Manuel P. Ramos, Jr. and her siblings, Tom and Johnny Monteith, Blanche Sholtis, and Helen Blystone.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara S. Scheepers of Chesapeake and Bill A. Shaffer (Elouise) of Bay Minette, AL; granddaughter, Julie Setterlund (Christian); great grandchildren, Emma-Hayes and Taylor; step-grandchildren Todd Wainwright, and Pat Wainwright (Robin); a step great grandchild Kayla and a host of other family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Rosewood Memorial Park with Richard Castleberry officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideons International or Magnolia Manor – retirement and assisted living facility, 556 Hannibal Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.  A sincere thank you to the staff of Magnolia Manor for the compassionate, loving care they provided for Betty during her brief residence with them.
