Billie Jean Guthrie, 80, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2021. Billie was born in North Carolina on March 7, 1941 to the late William and Nettie Stocks.

 

Billie was a caring and loving person who also brightened the room when she walked into it. She will be missed deeply.

 

Billie is preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Kilby Guthrie; son, Douglas Morelen, Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Cashwell; granddaughter, Brittany Cashwell.

 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Christine Horwatt and Melissa Daughtry; step-daughter, DeLayne Guthrie and Kim Hammond; granddaughters, Antwanette Stage, Tiffany Stage and Brandi Daughtry; great-grandchildren, Sebriah, Laycee, Eri-Anna, Kario and Bradin She leaves behind many more extended family members and friends.

 

Billie’s visitation will take place on Friday, April 30 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462) from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM with service immediately following. Interment at Rosewood Memorial Park (631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462) following service.
