Bobbie Fulcher

May 24, 1932 - April 16, 2021

Bobbie Vaughn (Goggin) Fulcher passed on into eternal life April 16th, 2021 and is now in the arms of Jesus. She passed away peacefully in her daughter’s “Cozy Bear Cottage” TN home.

She was born in Henry County, TN in 1932 to Katherine Valentine and James Raymond Vaughn, and was raised in Paris, TN where she graduated from Grove High School in 1950. After high school her adventuresome spirit took her to Washington DC, where she met her first husband, the late Robert Bennie Goggin, Sr. They raised their family of 4 children in Norfolk, VA where they were active members of St. John’s United Methodist Church. Bobbie worked diligently as a sales associate for Thalhimers Dept. Store until her retirement in 1994. In 1989, she married Ross B. Fulcher and enjoyed being an active member of Salem United Methodist Church. Her faith was paramount and she gave much of her time to the United Methodist Women In Missions Program locally and around the world. Bobbie enjoyed every opportunity for sightseeing, traveling, and visiting family even after she was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. She made friends everywhere she went, including at her most recent residence -Harmony at Independence where she participated at the many varied activities, and always had a warm smile. Mom is most appreciative of the care she received from her caregivers and physicians and staff in in VA Beach, VA; and in Maryville, TN during the last months of her life. She faced every new day with a smile and a positive attitude. A true loving wife-mother-sister-grandmother-great grandmother-aunt and friend, lessons were learned from her until the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Robert Bennie Goggin, Sr.; and step-son Gerald Fulcher.

She is survived by her husband Ross B. Fulcher of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters Debra K. Condon of Fauquier County, Virginia and Gwenda F. Goggin PA-C of Maryville, TN; two sons Reverend Ben Hadley-Goggin (Gail) of Richmond, VA and James Randall Goggin of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren Richard William Cole (Samantha), Robert Michael Cole (Hannah), Ashlan Hadley-Goggin, Josh Hadley-Goggin (Jess), and Page Livingstone; two great grandchildren Adeline Cole and Nolan Cole; two brothers James Dickie Vaughn (Thuykoi) and Rex Millington Vaughn (Terry); and two step-children Kay Cotter (Richard) and Ross Fulcher Jr. (Roseanne), and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
