Brenda Gail Williams

May 3, 1960 - July 22, 2021

On July 22, 2021, Brenda Gail Williams, 61, died in Newport News, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis and complication, with her family by her side.

She was born to Willie Lois Andrews and William Edward Andrews Sr. May 3, 1960 in Anniston, Alabama. Brenda graduated from Anniston High School in 1978 and received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the Lafayette School of Practical Nursing in 1989.

Brenda and Michael Williams were high school sweethearts and married in 1979. Together they built a loving and caring home for their three children; Dejuan, Davara, and Mechelle, that they would raise together to be independent, compassionate and ready for the outside world.

Brenda was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was beautiful inside and out, funny, loved to dance, filled with kindness and loving. She was known for her quick wit, compassion and no nonsense.

Brenda’s memories will forever live in the hearts of her husband of 42 years, Michael Williams; children, Dejuan Williams, Davara Howard (Terelle) and Mechelle Daniels (Thomas); father, William Edward Andrews Sr; siblings, Janet Kasheef, William Edward Andrews Jr, Jeffrey Andrews, Antown Andrews; granddaughters, Makynze, Abigail and Camille; grandsons, J’Shuan and Terelle Jr; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death and will be greeted in heaven by Willie Lois Andrews (mother), Ada Young (grandmother), Rosa Mae Angel (aunt) and Priscilla Lynch (sister).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Debigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, on Tuesday, July 27th at 12:00PM.

Like radiant sunshine that comes after rain,

Like beautiful rest after sorrow or pain,

Like hope that kindled returning, again,

It’s the wonderful peace of my Savior.

What our families say...

In my opinion, there is no better facility in Virginia than Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Not only was Chris Sisler there to hold my hand every step of the way, his family members were holding the door on the day of the funeral to help and encourage me. I will never forget their grace. He led me and my family through the process as a personal friend and neighbor, and as the ultimate professional.
