VIRGINIA BEACH- Carolyn Amy Ficken (Hoover), 84, passed away on November 10, 2021, with her family by her side. Carolyn was born in Cresson, PA to the late Paul Leo Hoover and Hilda Agnes Hoover (Deihl). She was also predeceased by her step-mother Ruth Hoover; husband Dale Ivan Ficken; infant sister Mary; and brothers, Richard “Pete” Hoover and Greg Hoover.

Carolyn retired from General Dynamics as a supervisor. In her retirement years, she was part of the Altmeyer family and loved working there. She was a member of the Church of the Ascension where she had served as a Eucharistic minister.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Clifford “Dale” Ficken (Lisa); daughter, Cheryl Ann “Sherry” Roebuck (Rick); grandchildren, Britney, Ryan, Heidi, Kyle, Isaiah, Brianna and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Brody, Baylee, Bellatrix and Kaleiana; brother, Allen Hoover (Jackie); sisters, Joan Shepherd (Thornton) and Linda Strassburger (Monte); sisters-in-law, LaVerne and Terri Hoover; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mass service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1:00pm at Church of the Ascension, VA. Beach. Carolyn’s final resting place will be with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
