Charles Earl Price, 76, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2019. Charlie, fondly known as Charlie Darling by his family, was a life long resident of Virginia Beach. He boxed at the Knight’s Club in his youth and graduated from Virginia Beach High School in 1962. He retired as an E7 Gunnery Sergeant from the US Marine Corp Reserves after twenty-four years of service to our country and gave thirty years of hard work and dedication to the Ford Motor Company in Norfolk, Virginia. In his retirement, he enjoyed shag dancing, golfing, and traveling with his wife Linda. One of his greatest joys was spending time with and caring for his grandchildren. Charlie had a strong, active faith and was a member of Grace Bible Church. His big smile, kind heart, and funny sayings made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Preceded in death by his mother, Edna Earl Doughty, sister, Bonnie Rogers, and granddaughter, Lyla Melvin. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Morgan Price; children, Lisa Price Volkman (David), Sarah Price Thomas (Jeremy), Heather Van Meter Kight (Troy), Cleat Van Meter, Jeannine Van Meter Melvin (Wes); siblings, Brenda Price Frame (Ernie), Edward Rountree (Marty), Walter Rountree (Linda ) and Connie Zorraga (Jamel). He was a loving grandpa to Morgan Albritton (Jake), Zachary Volkman (Meghan), Hunter Smith, Claire Boynton, Parker Smith, Abigail Volkman, Luke Boynton, Charles Thomas, Kathryn Thomas, Kayla Melvin, Molly Thomas, and great grandson Jackson Albritton. He was loved by a host of extended family and friends.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 with a 10:00 am Memorial Service at Grace Bible Church (2956 Ansol Lane ) followed by a Graveside Service at Rosewood Memorial Park (631 N. Witchduck Road) . Directly after the services, a reception will be held at Grace Bible Church.
