The Lord called Christina Tanner home 10/18/2021. Chris, as she is known to her close friends, leaves behind her husband, Terrence Tanner, friend of 22 and husband for 17 years. Chris is survived by her step-son Perry, her son, Gavin and daughter Ava. Chris, is held in the hearts of her parents, James and Carol Beran , older sister, Jessica Juarez, parents-in-law Walter and Debora Tanner, sister-in-law Tiffany Tanner-Stith with her husband Derrick. Chris will be missed by countless, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. All who know her, know her for her love, generosity, honesty, easy smile, and compassionate heart. She has life long friends in Belgium and Spain.
Born in Pennsylvania, Christina moved with her parents, sister, and grandmother to Massachusetts, finally settling in Newport News, VA at 10 years old. Chris graduated from Menchville High School, attended Ferrum University, and graduated with her B.A. from Old Dominion University. Chris loved softball and baseball, pitching for both her rec team, and later for her championship rec team in Brussels Belgium. She was an avid Red Sox fan, loving Big Papi. She later became a Saints fan through her husband. Chris moved to Belgium with her husband in 2005 and later to Spain in 2007. Chris loved European culture, especially Spain, and traveled to England, Italy, Gibraltar, France, and Germany. The family returned to Hampton Roads 11 years ago after a brief 1 ½ year stay in Paso Robles CA. On her return, Chris joined the medical office staff of Riverside Hospital’s Brentwood Clinic.
Chris was a warrior and irreplaceable. She fought complications from Sepsis from 1/2/2020 until 10/18/2021, when the Lord felt it was time to ease her pain and end her fight She touched and impressed all she came in contact. She was indomitable. We miss you Chris. Always…
