I was in the process of looking for my father’s obituary to leave message & came across this. I didn’t know you, but sure some way we’re related. Would have loved to have met & known you. Hopefully, you arrived in heaven with open arms by The Father & family you known & unknown. RIP….Mr. Whitehead.

We just learned last night of Christopher’s departure from this world, and we are crushed. He was an expert designer and one of the sweetest, most interesting individuals ever to cross our path. LOVED talking with him about every topic under the sun. We were so excited for him as he made his retirement plans, and it especially saddens us that he did not get to enjoy the leisure time he so deserved. We actually thought the reason we hadn’t heard from him since December was because he was taking his first month of retirement to do nothing, as was his stated plan. Christopher was impeccable in every way and we have lost a dear friend. Our condolences to Christopher’s family – he was very proud of you all.

I had the pleasure to work with Chris for several years. Once we both found out we were both from up north it was on! Having been into music and the arts for so very long, when I first started at Lowe’s, Chris stuck out as someone I wanted to get to know. We shared our love of Music, fasion, pop culture, and religion. As a young man and former starving artist, I was totally blown away by his life story. Each and every conversation left me not just knowing Chris more, but made me look forward to our next conversation and what other amazing life detail he would share then. From my side, being in his presence was home. We shared in witty banter and enjoyed those days we worked together. He would always make a point to hang at the Windows and Doors desk b4 he would leave for the night. Or he would make a point to stop and see me in plumbing.
Chris, it was my absolute pleasure to be just a lil part of your amazing life story!
All of us Lowes and former Lowes family, will me you and we’ll always appreciate our time with you!
Rest in Pease my friend…

In such a short time Christopher became a good friend, and someone who made every day better by just being here. We’ll always appreciate his kindness, gentle nature, wisdom and wit. Christopher was a genuine, loving person and Heaven is richer for his presence there. Until we meet again, rest peacefully Christopher.
