Curtis Anthony Walker was born on December 28, 1959 to Curtis Gainor and the late Jacqueline Walker. After a relatively short battle with cancer, he departed this life on June 14, 2017 at home with his loving family.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Curtis attended New York City Public Schools. He furthered his education at Nassau Community College in Long Island, NY and later Lincoln Technical Institute in Union, NJ. Curtis had a passion for helping those with mental disabilities and so worked for United Cerebral Palsy and AHRC in New York City, and later for the City of Virginia Beach.
Curtis had many loves: junk food, peanut butter, gadgets, computers, video games, science fiction, music, and the Honey Mooners. Fish, plants, and birds were also among his many passions. He also could play the keyboard and guitar.
Curtis Walker was precedent in death by his mother Jacqueline Walker and son, Terrence Collier. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life his wife, Bridgett Walker; children, Keon Miller, Sani’ya Collier, Jacqueline Walker, and Eboni Davis; parents, Curtis and Evelyn Gainor; brothers James Walker, Javon Walker, Richard Marcus Gainor; sisters Suzette Modica, Corlette Bowen, Rev. Dr. Kathy Gainor, Melinda Hoyte; granddaughter, Amina Miller, and a hosts of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be truly missed but forever in our hearts and memories. Earth has no sorrow heaven can’t heal.
