Curtis Vernon Blaney, Sr. passed away April 5, 2022 in Virginia Beach, VA. Curtis was born  January 21, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to Virginia Beach as a young man to be  with his mother and to start a family of his own.
Curt had battled cancer for many years with courage and a good attitude. He never let it stop  him from going places and having fun.
Curt was an automobile machinist by trade. He enjoyed restoring and fixing up cars to their  potential. His passion was living on his yacht the “Aquaholic” with Gigi his special companion  and their pet Max. He was known to many as “Captain Curt”. Curt enjoyed jet skiing and  making waves on the pontoon. Curt had the best “toys” and would enjoy them with his  grandchildren and family. He usually had a fishing pole in one hand and a strawberita in the  other. Curt could start a conversation with anyone, even a stranger he bumped into at the store.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need.
Curtis is survived by his father George (Sue) Blaney, his siblings Jeffrey and Timothy Blaney,  Amy and Paul Bailey, devoted father to Curtis Jr. and Kaitlyn, grandchildren Cameron, Cynthia  and Julia and a host of cousins and loving friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley  Ann Blaney.
We will always remember Curt with love and fun memories, he will never be forgotten.

I just wanted to express to Curt’s children Kaitlyn and Curt…and his Dad and entire Family and close Friends how deeply sorry we are for your loss. The few times I got to go to spend time with Curt and GiGi and their families and other friends and their much loved little dog Max at the yacht ,are some of the most fun, funny and happiest times I’ve ever had …and I will always love and treasure those memories….and I will never forget how kind and welcoming Curt always was toward me…putting his arm around my shoulder as if he’s known me his whole life!!! I will never ever forget him for that and the picture of him standing at the back of his yacht perfectly embodies exactly the Curt I knew and was honored to have known…His Spirit and Light will live on through his children and grandchildren and every day he will be more alive in Spirit and Light than he was the day before ! I will always miss him and will always look for the signs he sends to let us know he’s still close by! With Love, Terese and Family
