Dawn Griffin Appleby, 51, died March 15, 2017. Dawn was born in Portsmouth, VA to Linda Kirby Hoover and the late George W. Griffin, Jr. She enjoyed decorating her home with just the right interior accents. Dawn and her husband were inseparable, and she loved gardening and working in the yard with him. She was predeceased by her sister, Linda Griffin.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Scott D. Appleby; mother, Linda Hoover (Merle) of Virginia Beach; daughters, Crystal Goodrich (David) of Smithfield, Heather Adams of Newport News, and Tiffany Drenkhahn of Portsmouth; ten grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20th, from 6pm until 8 pm at Healing Waters Worship Center, 12172 Smiths Neck Road, Carrollton, VA. A life celebration service will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 11am at the church with Pastor William M. McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. I did not know dawn but I did have the pleasure of knowing several members of her family including her daughter as well as nieces and nephews. My family extends its sincerest condolences and prays for comfort and healing in this difficult time
