Deborah Rebbekah Breien

August 6, 1949 - June 20, 2021

Deborah Rebbekah Breien, 71, of Virginia Beach was eased into eternal rest on June 20, 2021 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital after a 10-month struggle with a recurrence of ovarian cancer after twenty-one years of remission. She was the beloved sister of Reinholdine Breien Pierson, also of Virginia Beach. Debbie was the first woman to be accepted to the MBA program at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick. Before retirement, Debbie was the Global Services Officer at State Street Bank in Boston, MA. With the encouragement of her sister, she relocated to Virginia Beach where she lived in Sherwood Lakes.

She was the daughter of her late parents David Reinholdt and Grace Marie Breien and the sister of the late Grace Evalgeline Breien Cote. She predeceases her newphews Lars-Erik and Kristofer Jon Pierson, niece Reinholdine Kaaren Pierson, great nephews Lark Erik Breien Pierson, Lucas Kristofer Pierson, Nicholas Reinholdt Ebbink and Tyler Ebbink and great nieces Sydney Blake Pierson, Jordan Pierson, Lauren Elizabeth Westcott and Paige Alexis Ebbink and great –great niece Stella Rose Booth.

A funeral will be held on June 28th at 10:00am at Nimmo United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach followed by an interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
