Diane McCarron

January 14, 1954 - May 9, 2021

Diane P. McCarron passed away May 9th in Virginia Beach, Virginia surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Diane was born January 14, 1954 to James and Adele McCarron.  She was a graduate of Oakton High School and Old Dominion University in Norfolk.

After graduation Diane relocated to Roanoke, where she met Forrest Wimett.  They moved to Southern Shores , North Carolina and wed.  Diane started her career in Real Estate sales.  Their union brought forth one child, Travis.  Diane loved her family and their life at the beach.  She loved cooking, gardening, and reading. Diane loved to cook the fresh seafood Forrest caught with new recipes.  She became a real estate broker and manager for Brinkley Real Estate in Duck, NC.

After suffering with Multiple Sclerosis for many years, they relocated to Norfolk.  Diane was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Forrest.  Left to cherish her memory are her son Travis, granddaughter Payeton, brothers Brian and Jamie, sister Laurie, sister-in-law Molly, brother-in-law Mike, nieces Ashley and Alicia, nephews Jessie, Colin, Tyler, and Trey, as well as her best friend and caretaker Wynter Brown, and sister-in-law Martha, brother-in-laws Roger and Alan, and nephew Jesse.

A memorial service will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestras Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach.  In lieu of flowers, please visit www.nationalmssociety.org to give in memory of Diane for the MS society.
