Donald and I worked together and spoke with one another on an almost daily basis. I didn't get to know too much about Don's personal life as he was very private but I did get to know his character. Donald was the type of man that always showed his peers respect and took honor in being the kind of man that deserved theirs. He was meticulous in his work and wanted to ensure everything he did was of the highest quality. If he felt something was wrong he was going to make sure it was brought to light. But Donald had a lighter side as well. When he found something to be funny, you knew it. He had a very genuine chuckle that he didn't mind letting be heard. He truly will be missed, not only as a co-worker, but also as a friend. I hope someday we'll meet again.

Donald was a pretty cool dude. He was invaluable to me as a mentor in performing work as an HVAC checker. We only met one time due to covid and it really sucks that we wont get to meet again. I'm Truly saddened by his loss. My best wishes to his family.

Donald had many friends here at the shipyard. He was a well-respected Designer and had honed his craft over the years by investing his own personal time to better his skills and abilities. A couple of the traits that he had were his ability to get along with anyone and also to find humor in every situation no matter how hard things got. He was always one to persevere and push through to finish what he started. He will be missed both as a friend and as a professional co-worker. We thank him for his contributions to both Newport News Shipbuilding and our country's defense as he helped us design and build the best ships on the planet. Condolences to his family in this difficult time.
