Ms. Donna Dianne Clayton passed away on July 2, 2019 at her residence. She was born on October 14, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York to Sylvia Childs and Donald Hooker. Donna graduated from Suffolk High School, continued her studies at Norfolk State University, and attained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Special Education. She worked for Norfolk Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher, Family Determination and for YCAPP as an intensive in-home counselor. Donna is preceded in death by her father and sister, Donald Hooker and Donnesta Hooker. Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her two sons, Terrence Parrish of Colorado Springs, and Tavaris Parrish of Virginia Beach; her four grandchildren, Jordan Parrish of Virginia Beach, Brianna Lawrence and Bianca Parrish, both of Chesapeake, and Adalynn Parrish of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Sylvia Hooker; two sisters, Donnise Batton and Donya (Chester) Steward of Suffolk; three special sisters and one special brother, LaVerne LeGrand-Hicks Virginia Beach, Lynn Reed of Norfolk, Debbie Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia, and Reggie Clarke of Virginia Beach; and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended friends and family. A funeral service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home ~ Southside Chapel, on July 6, 2019 at 11 AM, with food and fellowship to follow.
