Doris Ann Burkett Snow, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born February 10, 1930, in Wide Mouth, West Virginia, to Glen and Havana Burkett.
Doris married Samuel E. (“Hank”) Snow in 1950. The U.S. Navy sent them to Bermuda for several years, and then they settled and raised their family in Virginia Beach. Doris’s family was her greatest joy, and she loved and cherished each of her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Sam; her son, Sammy Snow; her brother, Harold Burkett; and granddaughter, Shelly Marie.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry (Shirley) Burkett and Eddie (Sue) Snow; her daughter, Delores Wagoner; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Snow; her grandchildren, Curtis (Dee) Burkett; Matthew (Sheri) Snow; Eric (Sara) Snow; Nick Snow; Bryon Snow; Dana (Tom) Harrison; Jessica (George) Hinterleitner; and her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Baileigh, Skylar, Sierra, Jacob, Nathan, Jordan, Allison, Hunter, Myleigh, Carly, Khloe, Haidyn; and many family members in West Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
I have so many great memories of our front porch conversations. You will be greatly missed Doris! You are flying with the angels and will always be in my heart! Love and prayers to the family. May God wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you.
